Mechanical Drafting Engineer – Piping & Mining (AutoCAD & Fusion 360)

About the role

Our client seeks a skilled Mechanical Drafting Engineer to produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings for workshop, mechanical and pipework projects, using AutoCAD and Fusion 360. The role starts with repeatable drafting tasks and can progress to more complex engineering documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and Fusion 360.
• Prepare workshop, fabrication and pipework layout drawings.
• Interpret engineering specifications, sketches and measurements.
• Update and revise existing drawings based on project requirements.
• Maintain organized drawing files and version control.
• Support workshop teams by providing clear production‑ready drawings.
• Assist with HDPE pipeline and mining project drafting.
• Populate job cards and maintain technical documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Draftsperson, Mechanical Designer or Mechanical Engineer.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AutoCAD and Fusion 360.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Capability to work independently and manage drafting tasks.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
