Mechanical Craftsman

About the role

The Mechanical Craftsman will ensure that mechanical maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, specifically belts, are performed according to schedule. This role supports smooth and reliable plant operations while adhering to safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled mechanical maintenance on plant belts using job plans and safety precautions.
• Repair belt equipment promptly in case of breakdowns, including after‑hours calls.
• Prepare breakdown reports detailing causes, remedies, and spare parts used.
• Maintain proper use and care of tools and keep the work area clean after tasks.
• Follow the plant’s on‑call/shift system and respect plant rules.
• Participate in EMS Mechanical Instrumentation activities and Integrated Management System maintenance.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in belt repair and vulcanisation.
• Trade Test I, II or III, or City & Guilds qualification.
• Strong knowledge of work and safety rules, relevant equipment, and tools.
