MEAL Officer

About the role

This full-time MEAL Officer position is dedicated to establishing and sustaining a robust Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) framework across all current and upcoming initiatives. The role turns raw data into actionable insights that improve program effectiveness and demonstrate impact to stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and oversee a comprehensive MEAL system for active and prospective projects
• Gather, process and interpret data to assess program success and impact
• Maintain data integrity through systematic reviews, validation checks and quality assurance
• Produce detailed reports, interactive dashboards and visual summaries
• Administer and maintain secure databases on beneficiaries, activities and performance indicators
• Train staff and partners on MEAL principles and tools, and run capacity-building sessions
• Carry out regular site visits to verify data collection and support field teams
• Work with project managers to build logical frameworks, define indicators and design data collection instruments
• Manage the end-to-end data collection lifecycle using surveys, interviews and focus group discussions
• Ensure compliance with ethical standards and privacy regulations, including informed consent
• Use statistical techniques to find trends and patterns, and turn results into clear reports and presentations
• Contribute to grant applications, impact assessments and evaluation documentation
