MEAL Intern

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Intern supports the VISTA Initiative with data management and program oversight. It is a full-time internship offering hands-on experience in monitoring and evaluation within humanitarian and development work, helping to gather information, organize records and make sure feedback mechanisms work so programs can learn and stay accountable.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate data collection during program implementation and field operations.
• Aid in processing, verifying and organizing data entries.
• Use monitoring instruments, checklists and forms to gather information.
• Help track progress by comparing actual activities with targets.
• Verify data accuracy and carry out quality assurance checks.
• Contribute to collecting and addressing beneficiary feedback.
• Document insights, lessons learned and good practices.
• Assist in drafting initial monitoring summaries and status reports.
• Keep MEAL records and digital databases up to date.
• Support the MEAL team on assessments, surveys and site visits.
• Keep all program and beneficiary information confidential and complete other MEAL tasks as directed.
