Marketing Officer - Deposit Mobilisation and Customer Acquisition

About the role

Lightway Microfinance Bank, a CBN-licensed, NDIC-insured microfinance bank offering savings, credit and payment solutions to individuals and small businesses, is hiring a Marketing Officer. The officer drives deposit mobilisation, customer acquisition and loan growth by building relationships with individuals, traders and small businesses and marketing the bank's products in the field. The role reports to the Head of Marketing.

Key responsibilities

• Mobilise deposits and meet monthly deposit and account-opening targets.
• Market products such as Daily Savings, savings accounts, current accounts and loans to individuals and businesses.
• Acquire and onboard new customers, ensuring KYC documentation is complete and accurate.
• Identify and originate creditworthy loan prospects and support recovery on the portfolio.
• Run field marketing in markets, business clusters, estates and corporate offices.
• Build and manage relationships with existing customers to drive retention and cross-selling.
• Gather market intelligence on competitors, pricing and customer needs and share insights with management.
• Support digital and social media campaigns, product launches and community activations.
• Prepare weekly and monthly marketing performance reports.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years' marketing or business development experience in a microfinance bank, fintech or commercial bank; microfinance experience strongly preferred.
• B.Sc./HND in Marketing, Business Administration, Banking & Finance or a related field.
• Proven record of meeting deposit and sales targets.
• An existing network of customers or business contacts in Lagos is an added advantage.
• Good understanding of microfinance products, credit basics and KYC/AML requirements.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills; self-driven, target-oriented and comfortable with field work.
