Marketing Intern - Business Outreach

About the role

Ekime is an ERP built for Nigerian businesses such as restaurants, shops, salons, supermarkets, bakeries and hotels, offering a single dashboard for till, stock, suppliers, staff, payroll, expenses and profit and loss, plus an online shop and delivery tracking. The company is looking for marketing interns in Lagos who want to learn marketing face to face with business owners, in shops and markets.

Key responsibilities

• Visit businesses in your area, explain Ekime honestly and help owners open their shop on their own phone.
• Sign up every business brought in under Ekime's referral code so it is counted and credited to you.
• Keep a simple daily log of the businesses spoken to and where each one has reached.
• Record short video clips of your day (visits, sign-ups, an owner's first order) with the owner's permission, for Ekime's content.
• Help at events and market visits, and report what owners like, what stops them and what competitors say.

Required profile

• A student, recent graduate or NYSC member in Lagos.
• Confident speaking to business owners in English and Pidgin; Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa is a plus.
• Honest, reliable and willing to meet people every day; no experience needed, as training is provided.

Required skills

• Smartphone and comfort using apps.
