Managing Director

About the role

You will run the business day‑to‑day, set and deliver the yearly plan with the CEO and Board, and lead the company’s digital transformation. The role includes overseeing all functions – trading, compliance, risk, operations, finance, sales and IT – while representing the firm to regulators and major clients.

Key responsibilities

• Set and execute the annual growth plan, targeting more clients, trades and revenue.
• Lead digital initiatives, including new product launches and client onboarding platforms.
• Manage budget, profit and prepare for SEC’s new minimum capital rules due June 2027.
• Represent the firm to SEC, NGX, banks and major clients, ensuring compliance.
• Hire, lead and develop heads of trading, compliance, risk, operations, finance, sales and IT.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree minimum; MSc or MBA preferred.
• At least 12 years in Nigeria’s capital market, with 5+ years leading a stockbroking or investment business.
• Chartered Stockbroker (CIS) with active membership and eligible for SEC registration as MD.
• Proven track record of business growth (clients, trades, revenue or market share).
• Experience in forecasting, budgeting and leading large change projects.

Required skills

• Active CIS chartered stockbroker qualification.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Familiarity with investment apps or fintech platforms.
• Use of AI tools in a professional setting.
