Manager, Nutrition Program (MNCH) – Abuja

About the role

Evidence Action is seeking a senior Manager to lead technical assistance for Nigeria’s Small Quantity Lipid‑based Nutrient Supplements (SQ‑LNS) and Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) programs. The role will coordinate national rollout, work closely with federal ministries, development partners, and supervise nine State Coordinators.

Key responsibilities

• Lead national‑level coordination of the MMS and SQ‑LNS technical assistance program and develop rollout workplans with federal stakeholders.
• Develop and approve program‑wide policies, protocols and standard operating procedures for MMS and SQ‑LNS delivery.
• Maintain relationships with ministries, development agencies and implementing partners; represent Evidence Action in coordination meetings and advocacy forums.
• Provide technical guidance to State Coordinators, adapt training materials, and support community sensitisation campaigns.
• Oversee national quantification, forecasting and procurement planning; manage annual coverage surveys and quarterly performance monitoring.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public health, nutrition, health policy, health systems or a related field (medical degree is a plus).
• Minimum seven years of experience managing large‑scale nutrition or child health programs, preferably with government or NGOs in Nigeria.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams across locations and provide technical mentorship.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with government officials at federal and state levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, with experience producing high‑quality technical reports.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Data analysis tools for monitoring and evaluation.
• Experience with supply‑chain systems, including forecasting, quantification and procurement planning.
• Ability to synthesize complex data and translate findings into actionable program recommendations.
