Manager, Internal Control

About the role

A fast-growing distributed energy company operating in Nigeria is seeking a Manager, Internal Control to strengthen its internal control environment across finance, operations and project execution. The company deploys energy systems across multiple locations and operational sites, and the role ensures effective internal controls, reliable financial reporting, regulatory compliance and protection of operational assets as the company scales.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor internal controls
• Establish operational and financial controls
• Handle audit and compliance matters
• Conduct fraud prevention and investigations
• Optimize systems and controls
• Engage stakeholders and report on findings

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline
• ACA, ACCA, CPA, CISA or CIA preferred
• 5-8 years of experience in internal control, audit, risk management or compliance roles
• Experience in renewable energy, power, utilities, infrastructure, construction or project-based organizations is an advantage

Required skills

• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and audit methodologies
• Analytical and problem-solving ability, attention to detail and strong documentation skills
• Effective communication, stakeholder management and independent work
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel
