Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Maintenance Technician to keep our Lagos quick‑service restaurant running smoothly. You will be the backbone of our facilities, ensuring kitchen equipment, electrical and plumbing systems, and building fixtures operate without interruption.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and urgent maintenance on kitchen equipment such as industrial burners, fryers, refrigeration units and ovens.
• Carry out general building repairs including electrical (lighting, sockets, wiring), plumbing (leaks, blockages, faucets) and basic carpentry or painting.
• Develop and follow a preventive maintenance schedule to anticipate and avoid equipment failures.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
• Supervise third‑party contractors for major repairs like HVAC or electrical overhauls.
• Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and tools to minimise downtime.
• Provide rapid on‑the‑spot troubleshooting during peak service hours.

Required profile

• Trade certification (OND/Technical School Certificate) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on maintenance experience, preferably in a commercial kitchen, restaurant or hotel.
• Strong diagnostic ability across electrical, plumbing and HVAC/refrigeration trades.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and independently.
• Good communication skills for logging requests and reporting to management.
