Legal Officer – Real Estate Specialist

About the role

Jomav Homes is seeking a qualified Legal Officer to support its real‑estate operations in Marina, Ondo. The role focuses on managing contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing legal advice across property transactions and development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate purchase/sale agreements, leases, and development contracts.
• Ensure compliance with real‑estate laws, zoning, and environmental regulations while identifying and mitigating legal risks.
• Conduct due‑diligence investigations for property acquisitions and dispositions.
• Manage regulatory filings, licences, and permits with relevant government bodies.
• Provide legal counsel to management and operational teams on property law and development matters.
• Handle pre‑litigation, mediation, and litigation for real‑estate disputes.
• Coordinate and oversee external counsel for complex cases.
• Support corporate governance activities, including registrations and renewals.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB/LLM) with a Certificate of Call to the Nigerian Bar (B.L.).
• Significant experience in real‑estate law, property transactions, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of property law, tenancy law, contract law, and corporate governance.
