Lead POS Engineer – Fintech Payments

About the role

The Lead POS Engineer oversees field operations, business development, terminal lifecycle management and partnership coordination for Paymi Solutions Limited. This role works closely with Operations, Technology, Risk, Finance and Customer Experience teams to deliver seamless POS services while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain deep knowledge of ISO 8583 messaging standards and troubleshoot related transaction messages.
• Analyze EMV data flow, including DE55, and resolve chip‑card transaction failures.
• Trace transactions across POS, acquirer, switch and issuer to identify points of decline.
• Manage relationships with terminal vendors, payment processors and service providers.
• Participate in product development initiatives and recommend enhancements to the POS offering.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years in fintech or transaction‑processing environments.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of ISO 8583 and EMV standards.
• Experience with payment switching, transaction processing and terminal management.
• Proficiency in analyzing transaction logs and ISO 8583 request/response messages.
• Knowledge of POS acquiring business models and merchant acquisition.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office Suite and business intelligence/reporting tools.
