Key Account Manager - Nigeria (Oil & Gas)

About the role

The company is looking for an expert Key Account Manager with sales experience in the Oil and Gas industry to join its team in Nigeria. The role focuses on developing new business and growing key accounts within NNPCL joint ventures and IOCs by positioning the company's products and services, and acts as country leader in the absence of the Area Director. It is based in the Lagos office with frequent travel within and outside Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Engage existing and new customers through product promotion and effective sales practices, and act as a trusted advisor for the full portfolio.
• Build account relationships, increase market share through competitor displacement and position the portfolio for larger projects.
• Liaise with internal and external sales teams on product knowledge, planning and execution to improve customer service.
• Develop strategic account plans and provide regular forecasts and budget updates (CRM, POR, quarterly, mid-year and yearly reviews).
• Work with business unit sales and marketing teams to position the portfolio in the marketplace.
• Build partnerships with IOCs, NOCs, independent oil companies and regulators such as NUPRC, NMDPRA, NUIMS, NCDMB and NIPEX.
• Support the Area Director in managing the Nigeria business and carry out other strategic duties asked by leadership.

Required profile

• Engineering or Science degree or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in the Oil & Gas industry in the West Africa sub-region.
• Proven direct B2B selling track record and experience building long-term customer relationships.
• Consultative selling approach, strong written and verbal communication, and ethical, safety-driven, result-oriented mindset.
• Preferred: process automation industry experience and ability to build cross-functional relationships in a matrix organization.
