Junior Cook

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Cook to join our kitchen team at FMR Agency. You will work on preparing a variety of dishes while maintaining high standards of quality, taste, and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Nigerian, continental, Caribbean, and international dishes, including breakfast, snacks, pastries, desserts, grills, and light meals.
• Maintain consistent food quality, portion sizes, and presentation, and contribute to menu development.
• Plan ingredient requirements, prepare shopping lists within approved budgets, and monitor kitchen stock to control food costs and minimise waste.
• Ensure proper food storage, kitchen cleanliness, and compliance with food‑safety standards.
• Coordinate meal orders and service times with the Apartment Manager and Front Desk Officer.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of professional cooking experience in a hotel, restaurant, serviced apartment, or catering establishment.
• Knowledge of Nigerian/African and international cuisine; pastry and baking skills are a plus.
• Culinary training or food‑hygiene certification is an advantage.
• Strong time‑management, organisational, and presentation abilities.
