IoT and Embedded Systems Engineer

About the role

A skilled IoT and Embedded Systems Engineer is sought to lead the end-to-end development of connected hardware solutions, from microcontroller-level firmware to cloud integration. You will work closely with software and product teams to turn concepts into reliable devices that operate in demanding real-world conditions, such as fluctuating power supplies and intermittent connectivity.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop high-performance firmware for microcontrollers (ESP32, STM32, Arduino, Nordic nRF) mainly in C/C++
• Integrate sensors, actuators and communication modules for GPS, GSM/LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE and LoRa
• Create schematics and PCB layouts with KiCad, Altium or Eagle, and oversee prototyping, validation and initial production
• Set up device-to-cloud connectivity via MQTT, HTTP/REST and CoAP, working with backend engineers on data pipelines and dashboards
• Build energy-efficient designs and security features such as OTA updates, encryption and secure boot
• Debug hardware and firmware with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters and JTAG/SWD debuggers
• Write technical documentation, including test protocols and user setup guides
• Monitor deployed units in the field and use performance data to improve reliability
