Head of Engineering

About the role

Strivo Labs is looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to lead its engineering function and deliver scalable, secure and high-performing technology products. The role suits a confident technical leader who can challenge decisions, take ownership and hold teams accountable, balancing technical depth, people leadership, project ownership and business priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and mentor engineering teams across multiple projects and product areas.
• Own end-to-end delivery of major projects, from planning and architecture to deployment and continuous improvement.
• Define and execute engineering strategy, set standards, best practices and delivery methodologies.
• Provide technical direction, make architectural and technology decisions and oversee code quality, testing, deployment and monitoring.
• Work with Product, Design, Operations and executives to turn business goals into technical solutions.
• Track performance, resolve blockers early, challenge unrealistic timelines and manage technical risks and security concerns.
• Maintain documentation, drive continuous improvement of processes, tools and infrastructure, and support recruitment, onboarding and retention of engineers.
• Ensure compliance with fintech, data protection, security and regulatory requirements, and report regularly to executive leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering or technology experience, including significant engineering leadership.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects from conception to production.
• Experience designing and scaling production-grade applications; fintech, financial services, banking, payments or lending experience highly desirable.
• Assertive, accountable, able to hold team members accountable and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Software architecture, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, DevOps and security.
• Agile/Scrum or similar methodologies.
• Engineering metrics, delivery processes and performance management.
