Network Security Engineer

About the role

Techware Professional Services Ltd, an IT services and solutions provider operating across Nigeria and West Africa, is looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to join its technical team. The role covers configuring, deploying, supporting and troubleshooting network security and cybersecurity solutions for clients. It is client-facing, so the candidate must attend technical meetings, understand client needs, present solutions, run demonstrations and work with OEMs and vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, deploy and support Next Generation Firewalls and other network security appliances.
• Work with security solutions from vendors such as Fortinet, Sophos, Check Point and Palo Alto.
• Configure and support NAC, WAF, SIEM, vulnerability management and endpoint security.
• Perform basic security assessments, vulnerability checks and security hardening.
• Troubleshoot and monitor network and security issues across firewalls, switches, servers and endpoints.
• Take part in client meetings, site assessments, technical presentations, product demos and PoCs.
• Understand client security requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Prepare technical specifications, BOMs and solution proposals.
• Work with OEMs, distributors and vendors on solution design, configuration and support.
• Support implementation, testing and post-deployment activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in network security.
• Excellent knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, network security and TCP/IP networking.
• Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise firewall/security platform (Fortinet, Cisco, Check Point, Sophos, etc.).
• Good troubleshooting, communication, presentation and client engagement skills.
• Ability to work with OEMs, vendors and technical teams.
