Inventory Manager

About the role

An inventory manager oversees stock levels, coordinates procurement, and optimizes storage to meet user needs. He manages the entire supply cycle, monitors finished sugar and molasses stock, and oversees weighbridge functions for cane and finished sugar.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the material management department, supervising, hiring and training warehouse staff and inventory clerks.
• Review daily purchase requisitions, verifying quantity, specifications and estimated costs.
• Perform budget checks, ensure compliance with purchasing policies, and confirm if items are already in stock.
• Identify overstock situations and optimize reorder points to reduce inventory cost.
• Plan and forecast stock, conduct inventory control and auditing.
• Evaluate incoming requests for clarity, justification and budget adherence.
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual stock count reports.
• Oversee warehouse and storage operations.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Science or Engineering; relevant professional certification is an advantage.
• Minimum of 10 years’ hands‑on experience in inventory management within a manufacturing industry.
