International Consultant for AI Solutions in Education Data Management

About the role

UNICEF is recruiting an international consultant for AI solutions in education data management, based in Abuja, Nigeria, for a 12-month consultancy. Working under the supervision of the Chief of Education, the consultant supports the education sector's digital transformation. The work is remote with travel.

Key responsibilities

• Inception and design of AI development and integration
• Pilot and refinement of the solution
• DHIS2 technical review and national capacity building
• Digital sector plans and performance monitoring
• Deployment and handover

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in computer science, data science, data analytics, statistics or another relevant field
• Ten years of experience supporting digital systems, data systems and software development, including system architecture, configurations, integrations, source code and technical documentation for national data systems
• Five years of experience developing and implementing AI-enabled digital solutions
• Five years of experience in data analysis, visualization and building user-friendly digital tools
• Demonstrated experience supporting education sector management through digitalized monitoring and evaluation tools
• Strong English communication skills
• Desirable: experience with UNICEF or international organizations

Required skills

• Practical expertise in EMIS implementation, configuration, system administration and technical support, especially DHIS2
