Internal Control Manager

About the role

Maybrands, the No.1 retailer of Fossil products in Nigeria and the only licensed store selling Fossil, Skagen, Emporio Armani, Diesel, Michael Kors, DKNY, Armani Exchange, Chaps and Nixon, is recruiting a full-time Internal Control Manager based in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. The role suits someone with practical experience in internal control processes, risk identification, support of control measures and operational compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and continuously improve internal control policies and procedures across business operations.
• Carry out regular internal control checks, audits and reviews to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Identify areas of process improvement and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor daily operations and ensure proper documentation and adherence to internal control standards.
• Prepare periodic reports and presentations on internal control findings for management.
• Analyse data in Excel to spot trends, discrepancies and potential risks.
• Support investigations into operational breaches, discrepancies or fraud.
• Collaborate with departments, take part in risk assessments and help design controls for new processes.
• Track corrective action plans and ensure timely closure of control gaps.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3 years or more of experience in internal control, audit or compliance roles.
• Intermediate analytical skills and good reporting and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with good time management.
• Retail industry experience is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Preferred: ERP systems such as Odoo and familiarity with audit or control tools.

Salary is N400,000 - N500,000 per month depending on experience; applications close on 30 November 2026.
