Insurance Sales Specialist

About the role

Leadway, a Nigerian non-banking financial services provider active in life and non-life insurance, pension funds, health management, asset management and wills and trusts, is hiring an Insurance Sales Specialist. The position is full-time and hybrid, based in Lagos, combining on-site work with some work-from-home flexibility. It centres on finding prospective clients, promoting insurance and financial products and building long-term relationships with individuals and corporates.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect for new clients and prepare and deliver product presentations
• Generate quotations and guide clients through policy selection, documentation and onboarding
• Follow up on leads, manage the sales pipeline and meet assigned sales and revenue targets
• Maintain accurate records using CRM and internal systems
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims and customer service teams to ensure a good client experience and compliance with regulatory and company standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics or a related field
• Relevant professional certifications in insurance or financial services are an advantage
• Previous experience in insurance sales, banking or financial services business development is strongly preferred

Required skills

• Consultative sales, negotiation and closing, with the ability to meet or exceed sales targets
• Clear verbal communication, professional business writing and presentation skills
• Basic financial analysis, product knowledge of life and non-life insurance and understanding of risk management
• Organizational, time-management and planning skills, with attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
• Comfort with CRM platforms, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual meeting tools
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
