Insurance Commission Salesperson

About the role

Heirs Insurance Group, a family of insurance companies covering Heirs General, Heirs Life and Heirs Insurance Brokers, is hiring an Insurance Commission Salesperson. The role covers life, general and brokerage products and is a full-time hybrid position based in Lagos, combining in-office client engagements with work-from-home activities such as follow-up calls, virtual meetings and sales reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Identify prospective clients, present suitable insurance products and close sales across life, general and brokerage offerings.
• Generate and qualify leads and conduct client meetings.
• Explain policy features and prepare quotations.
• Manage application and onboarding processes and provide ongoing customer service.
• Handle policy renewals and collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with company procedures.

Required profile

• Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
• Relevant experience in insurance or financial services is preferred, especially in a commission-based environment.
• Minimum of a high school diploma; a degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or a related field is an advantage.
• Professional insurance certifications or licenses (where applicable) are beneficial.

Required skills

• Strong insurance sales and customer service skills, with a focus on responsiveness and client satisfaction.
• Core insurance knowledge, including different policy types and basic underwriting concepts.
• Familiarity with insurance brokerage practices, including working with multiple carriers and product options.
• Communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills, able to explain complex information clearly.
• Comfort with hybrid work and reliable access to digital tools for remote client interaction and reporting.
