Insurance Advisor

About the role

Leadway, a Nigerian non-banking financial services provider active in life and non-life insurance, pension funds, health management, asset management and wills and trusts, is hiring a full-time, on-site Insurance Advisor in Lagos. The advisor advises individuals and corporate clients on suitable insurance solutions, explains policy features and helps clients understand coverage, benefits and exclusions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify client needs, prepare quotes and support policy issuance and renewals
• Provide claims-related guidance when required
• Meet or call clients, respond to inquiries and maintain accurate records
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver timely, high-quality service
• Achieve sales and retention targets and take part in marketing or outreach activities
• Stay up to date on Leadway products, regulatory requirements and market trends

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of insurance, with familiarity of policy types and risk assessment
• Foundational understanding of finance, including basic financial analysis, budgeting and interpretation of financial products
• Consulting skills: needs assessment, solution recommendation and objective advice
• Excellent customer service and clear verbal and written communication
• Sales orientation, negotiation skills and ethical standards; good organisation and attention to detail
• Relevant degree (Insurance, Finance, Business, Economics or similar) and certifications are an advantage
• Prior experience in insurance, financial services or client advisory is preferred but not strictly required
