Instrumentation Engineer - Apapa Terminal

About the role

Dangote Industries Limited is looking for an Instrumentation Engineer for its Apapa Terminal. The role carries overall responsibility for the section and implements instrumentation engineering and maintenance policies in line with company policies and procedures, so that plant availability for production is kept at an optimum level.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine check-ups of instrumentation equipment according to the maintenance schedule, workload, workforce availability and company procedures.
• Coordinate the testing, repairing, calibration and troubleshooting of instrumentation control systems.
• Allocate work orders and supervise instrumentation technicians, ensuring adherence to established standards and guidelines.
• Endorse work feedback and close out work orders in the maintenance database.
• Liaise with the Mechanical and Electrical sections and integrate operations and maintenance teams.
• Prepare and review maintenance performance reports, including preliminary failure and root cause analysis reports.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Section Head.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering or another related field.
• 3 to 6 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a cement plant.
• Knowledge of the normal duty logbook and implementation of NIS ISO 9001:2008 QMS requirements in the department.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of VFD and UPS operation.
• In-depth knowledge of weighing systems and instrument load centers.
