In‑Patient Nursing Officer – Full‑Time, Abuja

About the role

This role involves delivering safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care in a 24‑hour ward‑based in‑patient environment. The hospital provides a modern, multidisciplinary clinical setting committed to patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients within the stream.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately within scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate, complete and timely nursing records and apply infection‑prevention and clinical‑governance standards.
• Deliver bedside nursing care across the shift, including medication rounds, IV therapy and fluid‑balance charting.
• Monitor vital signs and early‑warning scores, escalating deteriorating patients promptly.
• Lead admission and discharge processes and participate in ISBAR shift handover.
• Apply pressure‑area care and falls‑prevention measures for admitted patients.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification (RN) or Bachelor of Nursing Science from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 1 year of post‑registration nursing experience (newly registered nurses may be considered).
• Additional registrable nursing qualification (e.g., midwifery) or experience in a multi‑specialty hospital is a plus.
