Independent Non-Executive Director – Human Capital

About the role

An independent Non-Executive Director will join the Board and serve on the Remuneration & Human Capital Committee, providing strategic oversight of the organisation's people agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight and strategic direction on human capital, leadership and organisational effectiveness matters.
• Review executive remuneration policies, incentive frameworks and compensation governance to ensure alignment with performance and market standards.
• Guide workforce strategy, talent acquisition, retention, employee engagement and succession planning for the Board and senior management.
• Champion culture, diversity, inclusion and employee wellbeing while ensuring compliance with Nigerian labour laws and corporate governance codes.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years progressive human capital leadership experience, including executive and board‑level exposure.
• Previous board or board‑committee experience, preferably in investment, financial services, real estate or corporate finance.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian labour legislation, corporate governance principles and employment regulations.

Required skills

• Professional HR certification such as FCIPM/CIPM, FCIPD/CIPD, SHRM‑SCP, SPHR or HRCI.
• Expertise in executive remuneration, succession planning, leadership development and organisational transformation.
