ICT Officer

About the role

The ICT Officer provides basic technical support and helps manage and maintain the organization's information and communication technology systems. It suits an entry-level professional with 0-2 years of experience who wants to develop practical ICT skills, support staff and keep computer systems running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Provide basic technical support for computers, printers, internet connectivity, software and other ICT equipment.
• Install, configure, update and maintain computer hardware and software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software and network issues.
• Maintain ICT equipment and systems, and keep an up-to-date inventory of computers, accessories and software.
• Set up computers, user accounts and email accounts for new staff, and support staff with Microsoft Office, email and online platforms.
• Perform routine backups and help protect data security; assist with password protection, software updates, antivirus and safe internet practices.
• Monitor network connectivity, report problems and escalate complex issues to senior ICT personnel or external providers.
• Maintain records of issues, repairs and maintenance, and assist with printers, scanners, projectors and other office technology.
• Support virtual meetings, presentations and video conferencing, and train staff on basic ICT tools where needed.
• Report damaged or faulty equipment and perform other ICT duties assigned by the supervisor.
