Human Resources & Operations Officer

About the role

Mshel Homes Limited is seeking a Human Resources and Operations Officer to support its HR department and ensure smooth operational processes. Based in Kano, the role combines recruitment, employee relations, performance management and operational oversight within a real‑estate development environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop job descriptions, post vacancies and manage the full recruitment cycle.
• Screen resumes, conduct interviews and coordinate hiring.
• Facilitate onboarding, orientation and training for new staff.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee queries, concerns and relations issues.
• Assist the HR Manager with disciplinary actions, conflict resolution and employee engagement initiatives.
• Support performance appraisal processes, set objectives and provide coaching.
• Identify training needs, coordinate programs and maintain training records.
• Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation and prepare attendance, leave and payroll reports.
• Ensure compliance with labour laws and company policies.
• Evaluate and improve operational procedures to increase productivity.
• Manage supply‑chain activities such as procurement, inventory control and distribution.
• Supervise cross‑departmental workflow and monitor key performance indicators.
• Support health and safety policies, conduct inspections and report issues.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of HR processes including recruitment, onboarding and performance management.
• Experience handling employee relations, disciplinary matters and conflict resolution.
• Ability to coordinate training programs and maintain compliance documentation.
• Organisational skills to manage operational tasks and supply‑chain activities.
• Attention to detail for accurate record‑keeping and reporting.
