Human Resources Manager – Ilorin, Kwara

About the role

Sinomart Superstores is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function for its expanding retail operations in Ilorin, Kwara. The role will develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives and foster a high‑performance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with business goals.
• Lead end‑to‑end recruitment, onboarding, and talent retention initiatives.
• Manage employee relations, resolve workplace issues, and advise on disciplinary matters.
• Design and oversee performance management systems, including KPIs and reviews.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws and statutory regulations.
• Oversee payroll inputs, leave administration, pension, HMO, and employee benefits.
• Develop learning and development programs to enhance employee capability.
• Drive employee engagement, culture‑building, and retention initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM‑CP/SHRM‑SCP, HRCI) is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian labour laws and HR best practices.
• Experience in retail, supermarket, FMCG or manufacturing preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with HR information systems.
