Hotel Accountant – Full‑time, Kubwa, Abuja

About the role

The Hotel Accountant will manage all financial transactions of the hotel, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This full‑time onsite role reports directly to the GM/Chairman and supports management decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Record, classify, and summarize daily financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and perform general ledger reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and file tax returns on time.
• Prepare payroll and remit statutory deductions.
• Audit daily revenue reports and reconcile with front‑office and POS systems.
• Track income from rooms, food & beverage, banquets, and other departments.
• Conduct variance analysis and report discrepancies to management.
• Implement and monitor internal financial controls.
• Support external and internal audits with required documentation.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts, monitor performance, and highlight variances.
• Manage cash flow, bank reconciliations, petty cash, and safeguard financial assets.
