Hostel Portal Officer – University Accommodation

About the role

The university is seeking a responsible, computer‑savvy individual to manage its hostel portal and support student accommodation operations. This full‑time position involves rotational shifts covering mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends and public holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the university hostel portal, processing applications, bookings and room allocations.
• Maintain accurate records of students, rooms and occupancy.
• Assist students with portal and accommodation enquiries.
• Monitor occupancy levels and report available spaces.
• Report maintenance, security and other hostel‑related issues.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly hostel reports and maintain shift handover documentation.
• Escalate complaints and operational issues as needed while ensuring compliance with hostel rules and university policies.

Required profile

• OND/HND/Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Computer Science, IT, Hospitality Management, Education or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in hostel administration, customer service, school administration, front‑desk or facility management.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Reliability, punctuality and ability to work independently.
• Preferably residing in or near Amizi, Abia State, or able to commute.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with online portal or administrative management systems.
