Head of Finance - Microfinance Bank, Lagos

About the role

A microfinance bank in Lagos is looking for an experienced, strategic and results-driven Head of Finance to lead its Finance function. The role is based in Marina, Lagos on a hybrid arrangement, with immediate resumption. The bank wants a finance leader who combines sound financial judgment, strong governance and strategic insight, and who can build systems supporting sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance function and provide strong financial leadership to the bank's growth.
• Oversee financial controls, policies and processes, including internal controls and compliance.
• Manage treasury, liquidity and cash flow, and drive budgeting, financial planning and forecasting.
• Prepare, review and interpret financial statements and management accounts, and support regulatory, tax and investor reporting.
• Build systems and strengthen financial controls, policies and processes.

Required profile

• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA or equivalent, and a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Experience in fintech, financial services or technology-driven businesses is an advantage.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing finance teams and driving process improvements.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.

Required skills

• Budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and treasury awareness.
• Financial modelling, variance analysis and data-driven decision support.
• Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with IFRS or similar standards.
