Head of Finance – Inventory Management

About the role

Dangote Cement is looking for a senior finance professional to lead inventory finance across multiple production sites. The role ensures optimal stock levels, supports production planning and drives cost-effective inventory management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement inventory strategies to optimise stock levels and meet production schedules.
• Monitor and adjust reorder points, safety stock and other inventory parameters.
• Conduct regular physical counts, reconcile discrepancies and enforce control procedures.
• Collaborate with suppliers to secure timely, cost-effective raw-material deliveries and negotiate favourable terms.
• Work closely with production, sales, logistics and procurement to forecast demand and align inventory with market needs.
• Generate regular reports on inventory turnover, accuracy and provide insights for continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and safety standards for inventory and warehouse operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Economics or related field.
• Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CFA.
• Minimum 18 years of relevant experience in finance, inventory or supply-chain management.
• Strong understanding of the cement manufacturing industry, macro-economic factors and regulatory environment.
• Proven experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.

Required skills

• Extensive use of SAP or comparable financial systems.
• In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
