Head of Finance and Accounting

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Accounts to lead our finance and accounting function as we scale our legal technology business. You will own daily accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and controls while acting as a strategic finance partner to leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Own end-to-end accounting operations, including AP, AR, general ledger, payroll accounting, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Ensure timely statutory compliance, tax filings, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage statutory, tax, and internal audits as primary auditor contact.
• Design and maintain internal financial controls and accounting policies.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis with department heads.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury operations.
• Support CFO/leadership with financial insights for pricing, unit economics, and investor reporting.
• Lead, mentor, and grow the accounts and finance team.
• Automate accounting systems via ERP and accounting software optimization.

Required profile

• 6‑8+ years progressive accounting/finance experience, with 3‑5 years in a leadership role.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA) strongly preferred.
• Proven full‑cycle accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Independent management of statutory audits and regulatory compliance.
• Experience building processes in a startup or high‑growth environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
