Accountant – Finance & Bookkeeping

About the role

We are Nigeria's leading legal technology company seeking an Accountant to support daily finance operations as we scale. Reporting to the Head of Accounts, you will handle bookkeeping, reconciliations, invoicing and compliance tasks in a fast‑growing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts, including journal entries, ledgers and daily bookkeeping.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, manage vendor invoices, client billing and collections follow‑up.
• Perform regular bank and ledger reconciliations and assist with month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Support preparation of financial statements, management reports and statutory filings.
• Assist internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and responding to queries.

Required profile

• 1‑4 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or a similar finance support role, or a fresh graduate with strong academic background.
• Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting or Finance.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle high‑volume, detail‑heavy transactional work.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Working knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage 50.
• Solid grasp of double‑entry bookkeeping and standard accounting principles.
