Head of E-commerce (Experienced)

About the role

The Head of E-commerce leads the end‑to‑end online strategy for a fast‑growing creator‑focused marketplace in Lagos. This full‑time, hybrid position oversees platform management, merchandising, pricing and customer experience to drive traffic, conversion and revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute e‑commerce strategy, including product discovery, checkout flow and online promotions.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales on digital campaigns and sales funnels.
• Monitor performance metrics, analyze user behavior and optimise conversion rates.
• Ensure smooth operations across payment gateways, logistics partners and customer support.
• Lead business planning for new digital initiatives and manage key partner relationships.
• Guide a cross‑functional team of product, technology, marketing and operations stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading e‑commerce operations or online marketplaces, preferably in consumer goods or creator‑focused platforms.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret data and make evidence‑based decisions.
• Demonstrated sales and marketing expertise to drive revenue and customer acquisition.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics or related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• Familiarity with Nigerian consumer behavior, local payment systems and logistics providers is highly beneficial.
