Head, Finance & Operations - Microfinance Bank

About the role

CredPal's Microfinance Bank Dawakin Kudu Limited is looking for a senior, execution-driven Head of Finance & Operations to oversee the bank's financial management, operational efficiency and overall performance in Dawakin Kudu. The role drives financial strategy, internal controls and process optimisation while supporting business growth and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the bank's financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, and drive profitability through cost management and revenue optimisation
• Prepare accurate financial statements, file statutory returns (CBN, NDIC, tax) and liaise with auditors, regulators and tax authorities
• Oversee daily banking operations, cash management, branch operations and transaction processing, and implement SOPs and internal controls
• Ensure compliance with CBN regulations, manage credit risk and portfolio quality, and monitor fraud risks
• Manage liquidity, cash flow, funding and investment activities
• Lead and develop the finance and operations teams, set KPIs and drive process improvement and digital transformation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
• ACCA / ACCA certification required; MCIB is an added advantage
• At least 5 years of experience strictly within a microfinance bank, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role overseeing finance and/or operations
• Strong knowledge of microfinance banking operations and Nigerian regulatory requirements
• Proven experience in financial planning, treasury management and operational leadership
• Must reside in Kano State, preferably near Dawakin Kudu
