Group Head – Business Growth

About the role

We are seeking a Group Head, Business Growth to lead the development and execution of growth strategies for a leading asset management and securities firm in Lagos. The role will shape the firm’s market positioning, drive new revenue streams, and ensure sustainable expansion across institutional, corporate and high‑net‑worth client segments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a clear business growth strategy aligned with the company’s long‑term vision, conducting market intelligence and competitor analysis to identify expansion opportunities.
• Lead cross‑functional initiatives in product development, distribution and client engagement, setting ambitious growth targets and actionable plans.
• Identify, evaluate and pursue new business opportunities, overseeing the full business development lifecycle from prospecting to onboarding.
• Negotiate and establish strategic partnerships, joint ventures and co‑investment opportunities to broaden market reach.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with key clients, delivering customized investment solutions and ensuring high satisfaction.
• Establish and track KPIs to monitor the success of growth initiatives, preparing comprehensive reports for senior management.
• Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements, working closely with legal, compliance and risk teams.

Required profile

• MSc/MBA in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in asset management, securities, investment banking or related financial services.
• Proven track record in business development, sales leadership or corporate strategy within the financial sector.
• Strong understanding of investment products, capital markets and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross‑functional teams.
