Group Chief Financial Officer – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing (West Africa)

About the role

The company is a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer operating across West Africa and is seeking a strategic Group Chief Financial Officer to steer its finance function. This senior executive will partner with the leadership team to drive financial performance, support growth initiatives, and ensure long‑term sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the financial strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
• Oversee accounting, treasury, tax, payroll and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, statutory requirements and internal controls.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and capital allocation.
• Provide financial insights to support strategic decision‑making.
• Drive cost‑optimization initiatives while maintaining operational efficiency.
• Lead risk management, governance and audit processes.
• Build relationships with banks, auditors, regulators and investors.
• Evaluate investment opportunities, capital projects and expansion plans.
• Develop and mentor a high‑performing finance team.
• Support digital transformation and process improvements within finance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• MBA or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration (highly preferred).
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent).
• 12‑15 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Prior experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, FMCG or manufacturing industries.
