General Manager, Marketplace & Brand Partnerships

About the role

VeendHQ is seeking an experienced commercial leader to shape and scale its marketplace and brand partnership engine in Nigeria. The General Manager will own the strategy for acquiring high‑volume merchant checkout partners and forging strategic FMCG brand collaborations that drive BNPL demand and marketplace growth.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute VeendHQ’s marketplace partnership roadmap across airlines, travel, transportation, retail and other high‑impact sectors.
• Secure and manage high‑volume merchant checkout agreements and FMCG brand‑funded campaigns.
• Lead end‑to‑end commercial negotiations from prospecting to contract signing.
• Deliver sustainable merchant checkout volume to support BNPL origination and achieve a target of ₦16 billion annual GMV.
• Design, recruit, and lead a high‑performing Marketplace & Brand Partnerships team.
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Operations, Risk, Legal and Lending teams to ensure successful partner onboarding.
• Monitor partnership performance, optimise commercial outcomes and build scalable reporting and forecasting processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in FMCG trade marketing, key account management, merchant acquiring, retail partnerships or commercial business development.
• At least 3 years in a director‑level or senior commercial leadership role.
• Proven track record closing strategic partnerships generating ₦100 million+ GMV.
• Experience leading commercial teams within Nigeria.
• Strong negotiation, relationship management and partnership development capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to build and execute commercial strategy at scale.
