General Manager – HR & General Services

About the role

The General Manager, Shared Services is a senior executive responsible for strategic leadership and integrated support across Human Resources, Procurement, Administration and Security for a downstream petroleum business in Nigeria. The role ensures the organisation has the people, materials, facilities and security infrastructure needed to operate safely, efficiently and competitively.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute HR strategy, oversee talent management, employee relations, learning, compensation and culture across all sites.
• Lead procurement strategy, contract and vendor management, policy enforcement, cost optimisation and inventory control.
• Oversee administration and facilities management, including travel, fleet, utilities, records and service contracts.
• Define and implement the company’s security strategy, risk framework and incident response across marine, terminal, logistics and retail operations.
• Act as a strategic business partner to executive management, resolve cross‑functional issues and develop succession and leadership capability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, IT, Security Management or related field; MBA/MSc and professional HR/Procurement certifications are a plus.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 7 years in senior management, preferably in oil & gas, marine, logistics or other asset‑intensive industries.
• Demonstrated experience in cost optimisation, organisational development and service transformation.
