Head of Programmes

About the role

The Head of Programmes will provide strategic leadership, design, implementation and quality assurance for all programmes and projects, ensuring they deliver measurable impact and comply with donor and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of programme strategies aligned with organisational priorities and donor frameworks.
• Oversee end‑to‑end programme implementation, enforce quality standards and manage programme teams.
• Drive impact measurement, monitoring and evaluation systems, and ensure compliance with donor rules and reporting timelines.
• Build technical and managerial capacity within programme teams and promote cross‑programme collaboration.

Required profile

• First degree in Project Management, Social Sciences or related field.
• 8–10 years progressive programme leadership experience in not‑for‑profit or development organisations.
• Strong experience managing donor‑funded programmes and deep understanding of monitoring, evaluation and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent communication, networking and organisational skills.
