Game Art & 3D Design Intern

About the role

BORIZENT is looking for a remote Game Art & 3D Design intern to help create characters, environments, props and high-quality 3D visual assets for original games and interactive experiences. This is an unpaid, learning-based internship.

Key responsibilities

• Create concept art for characters, environments, props and weapons
• Develop game-ready 3D models and visual assets
• Create textures, materials and UV maps
• Support character rigging and animation where applicable
• Prepare and import assets into Unreal Engine
• Optimise models and textures for game performance
• Research African mythology, clothing, architecture and visual references
• Collaborate with game developers, designers and other artists
• Organise and document project files

Required profile

• Interest in game art, 3D modelling and interactive experiences
• Basic experience with Blender, Maya, ZBrush or similar software
• Understanding of modelling, topology, UV mapping and texturing
• Knowledge of Unreal Engine is helpful; experience with Substance Painter or similar tools is an advantage
• Creativity, attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Ability to follow visual briefs and meet deadlines
• A portfolio or relevant work samples are required
