Fraud Investigation Officer

About the role

The Fraud Investigation Officer will lead investigations into suspected fraudulent activities across Moniepoint’s digital payment ecosystem. You will work closely with product, operations, compliance and customer support teams to protect the organization and its customers from financial loss.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate fraud cases and determine appropriate outcomes based on available evidence.
• Analyze transaction patterns to identify emerging fraud trends and risks.
• Document investigation findings and maintain accurate case records.
• Support fund recovery efforts by engaging internal and external stakeholders.
• Escalate complex or high‑risk cases in a timely manner.
• Recommend process and control improvements based on investigation insights.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve fraud‑related issues.
• Ensure investigations are completed within agreed service levels (SLAs).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 2–4 years of experience in fraud investigations, banking, fintech or a related risk function.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.

Required skills

• Knowledge of digital payment fraud and transaction analysis.
• Familiarity with fraud investigation techniques and tools.
