Fintech Technical Operations Manager

About the role

WayaBank, a digital bank serving individuals and businesses in Nigeria, is looking for a Fintech Technical Operations Manager to oversee the daily technical operations of its digital banking platforms. The goal is to ensure stability, performance and a high-quality customer experience. The position is full-time, based in Lekki with a hybrid arrangement, and requires being in the office twice a week.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor system health and uptime, coordinate incident response and manage technical troubleshooting across core banking, payment gateways and integrations.
• Work with engineering, product, customer support and vendor partners to resolve technical issues, improve processes and support new feature rollouts.
• Analyze operational data, define and optimize workflows, document procedures and drive continuous improvements in service delivery, security and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Experience overseeing daily technical or fintech operations and coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Experience in fintech, digital banking or financial services, ideally in high-growth or startup settings.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment in Lekki.

Required skills

• Hands-on technical support and troubleshooting in digital banking, payments or related fintech platforms.
• Familiarity with APIs, payment processors, core banking systems, incident management and ticketing tools.
• Analytical skills for interpreting operational metrics, incident trends and customer feedback.
• Excellent communication, documentation and stakeholder management skills, able to explain technical matters to non-technical audiences.
