AI-Driven Technical Product Manager - Banking and Payments

About the role

WayaBank, a digital bank serving individuals and businesses in Nigeria, is hiring a full-time, hybrid AI-Driven Technical Product Manager for its banking and payments business. The role defines and owns the product roadmap for AI-enabled banking and payment solutions, aligned with the bank's strategy and customer needs. It is based in Lekki, with two days per week in the office and three days remote.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and prioritize requirements, write clear product specifications, and collaborate with engineering, data science, design, compliance and operations teams to deliver secure, scalable features.
• Analyze product performance and user behavior data, run experiments, and use insights to improve conversion, engagement, fraud detection and risk management.
• Manage the product lifecycle, coordinate releases, communicate progress to stakeholders, and ensure AI models and payment flows meet regulatory, security and reliability standards.

Required profile

• Strong technical product management skills, with experience owning end-to-end delivery of digital products, ideally in banking, payments or fintech.
• Proven analytical skills, including data analysis, experimentation (A/B testing), dashboards and metrics-driven decisions.
• Experience in product strategy: defining vision, setting measurable goals, prioritizing roadmaps and aligning stakeholders.
• Program management capability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage timelines and dependencies, and deliver on-time releases.
• Background or strong familiarity with AI/ML-driven products (e.g., credit scoring, fraud detection, personalization), APIs and modern product development practices.
• Knowledge of digital banking, payments infrastructure (transfers, cards, POS, agency banking) and relevant regulatory and compliance considerations in Nigeria or similar markets.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience; experience in agile environments.
