About the role
The World Bank is seeking a highly motivated Financial Management Specialist to provide fiduciary assurance for its portfolio of financed operations in Nigeria. This fixed‑term position will support the design, implementation and monitoring of financial management systems across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with World Bank policies.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the ADM Financial Management Specialist for operations throughout the project/program cycle.
- Ensure compliance of all World Bank‑financed operations in Nigeria with FM policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Governance team, Lead Public Sector Specialist and Quality Assurance Senior FM Specialist.
- Report FM compliance issues, request guidance and coordinate with FM analysts, consultants and other support staff.
- Provide inputs to governance assessments, strategic discussions on financial management and public financial management risks.
Required profile
- Relevant experience in financial management, public financial management or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to work within multi‑disciplinary project teams and liaise with government counterparts.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
Required skills
- Knowledge of World Bank financial management policies and procedures.
