Finance & Accounts Officer

About the role

The Finance & Accounts Officer will own the accounts receivable cycle, ensuring accurate invoicing, ledger maintenance and timely collections for both cash and credit clients. This role safeguards cash flow and provides management with a clear view of outstanding balances.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and raise invoices for credit clients, issue receipts for cash clients, and handle credit notes with proper approval.
• Maintain customer ledgers, post daily transactions, and reconcile accounts to the general ledger and bank statements.
• Produce weekly ageing reports, follow up overdue accounts, allocate payments, and escalate credit issues as needed.
• Support month‑end closing, audit processes, and tax record requirements (VAT, WHT).

Required profile

• B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance or related field; ICAN/ANAN qualification is a plus.
• 2–4 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing or general accounting, preferably in healthcare or multi‑site environments.
• High attention to detail, integrity with financial data, and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Odoo or similar ERP/billing systems.
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reconciliations).
• Solid understanding of double‑entry bookkeeping, ageing analysis and Nigerian VAT/WHT.
