Finance & Accounting Manager

About the role

An agribusiness client of eRecruiter is looking for an experienced financial accounting and control professional to join its food processing business in Sagamu, Ogun State. The successful candidate should be a strong problem solver and self-starter who needs little guidance in a demanding corporate environment, with a proven track record in a similar role.

Key responsibilities

• Build and regularly update a full operating model projecting company performance over several years.
• Maintain accounting records, process financial transactions, perform bank reconciliation and administer payroll using QuickBooks Online.
• Prepare product pricing strategies and operating expense targets to maximise profitability.
• Manage state and federal tax payments and monthly pension contributions.
• Develop tools and systems so management has the information needed to act on strategy.
• Manage bookkeeping, prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly consolidated financial statements and reconcile the balance sheet ledger.
• Draft a weekly operating budget aligned with the operating plan and monitor its implementation.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports with variance analysis and spending forecasts, and recommend strategic actions.
• Manage relationships with regulators, external auditors, banks, tax authorities, government officials, contractors and consultants.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in finance or accounting from a reputable institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role; less than 10 years preferred.
• Proven ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Strong financial modelling and budgeting skills.
• Leadership, organisational and analytical skills, with a track record of positive outcomes preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Demonstrable knowledge of QuickBooks Online (a must).
