Facility Cleaning Manager

About the role

A Facility Cleaning Manager is needed in Ikoyi, Lagos, reporting to top management. The role oversees the company's facilities cleaning operations, supervises cleaning staff and ensures high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Help develop and oversee adherence to company policies, procedures and standards on facilities cleaning
• Assist in training cleaning staff so they understand company policy, procedures and expectations
• Supervise all cleaning staff on cleanliness standards and behaviour at work
• Make sure staff have enough cleaning supplies and know how to use them
• Carry out quality assurance checks, manage materials inventory and general equipment use
• Evaluate employee performance, coach on the job and take disciplinary action when appropriate
• Report incidents, procedure or safety violations to management
• Investigate customer complaints about sanitation and resolve them promptly
• Recommend supplies and equipment purchases and ensure economical use of materials
• Stay up to date on new cleaning equipment and materials, liaise with outside contractors and services, and ensure adequate supplies are available

Required profile

• HND or BSc degree in a related field
• 5+ years of experience as a cleaning manager with supervisory experience in a facilities management or cleaning company
• Experience supervising multi-location sites is an advantage
• Hands-on cleaning experience
• Ability to lead multiple teams, with coaching and mentoring skills
• Organised, resilient and able to work under pressure
